CV Joints & Boots replacement in Nerang

Regular maintenance of your car's CV Joints is essential as it helps to identify worn-out or broken parts. By doing so, repairs or replacements can be made in a timely manner, preventing additional damage that could result in more costly fixes.

CV Boots serve the purpose of safeguarding the CV joints, which are commonly known as constant velocity joints. Any kind of tear or breakage in the boots can lead to wear and tear in the CV, which ultimately leads to a bigger problem of failure, incurring much higher expenses than a simple repair of the CV boots.

If it has been some time since your CV joints and Boots were last inspected, or if you have reason to believe they may have sustained damage (often indicated by a clicking noise during turns and/or the presence of dark grease on the inside of the drive wheel and rims), we encourage you to bring your vehicle to our workshop in Nerang. Our team at One Stop Auto Care will gladly examine them for you.

Flexible couplings called CV joints facilitate consistent driving speed between two shafts, regardless of the angle, ensuring delivery of torque to the wheels during turns. The widely accepted method for achieving this is through the utilization of Rzeppa joint, although other approaches also exist.

Since the CV Boot is made of rubber, it will break down over time until it eventually tears and lets the grease out and dirt and water in. Ideally, the problem will be identified before it breaks or shortly thereafter, to minimise the impact on the CV Joint. If the car continues being driven without a working CV Boot and grease, the joint will start to wear away, seize up and eventually fail. In worst cases this could happen while you are driving.
